Mega Demon x The Chainsmokers Collaboration

Adam Weitsman, CEO of Upstate Shredding and a prominent American industrialist, entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and collector, has made another landmark acquisition: the 1 of 1 Mega Demon for $1.2 Million USD, setting the highest amount paid for an ape in 2024.

Mega Mutants, part of the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) and an extension of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem, are known for their rarity. Limited to only 13, each is a hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind original. Of the 12 Mega Mutants revealed so far, the Mega Demon is highly regarded amongst collectors.

Previously, the Mega Demon made memorable appearances including at ApeFest in New York 2022 unveiling the Mega Gold to attendees. The festival was graced by headliners such as Eminem and Snoop Dogg. In another memorable moment, the Mega Demon and The Chainsmokers apes collaborated to reveal the Mega Trippy.

As the new owner of the Mega Demon, Weitsman continues to advocate for NFTs and Web 3 Gaming. His ongoing commitment to the Bored Ape Yacht Club and the Otherside has resulted in notable acquisitions, including the Gold Mega Koda #9969 from Animoca Brands, the rare Mega Koda #9951, and the high-profile purchase of the Dookie Dash Golden Key for $1.6 million USD, which later transformed into the coveted Legendary HV-MTL #1.

The Mega Demon was brokered by Steven Papas, founder of APPRECIATION, specializing in digital art and collectibles.
